Overall, there are a total of 26,389 COVID-19 confirmed cases reported to DOH CHD SOCCSKSARGEN region. 2,619 (9.92%) are active cases, 22,913 (86.83%) recoveries and 852 (3.23%) COVID-19 related deaths.

Terrorist killed, 2 captured in military raid in Maguindanao

CAMP SIONGCO, MAGUINDANAO - A Dawlah Islamiya terrorist was killed and 2 others were captured during a raid conducted by Joint Task Force Central (JTF Central) at Brgy Nabundas, Shariff Saydona Mustapha, Maguindanao around 8 o'clock in the morning today, July 17, 2021.

Lieutenant Colonel Benjamin Cadiente, Commanding Officer of 33rd Infantry (Makabayan) Battalion, disclosed that elements of 33IB acted on the reports of civilian populace in the area on the presence of DI terrorist led by an allias Tong Bomber in their community.

Lorenzana: 17 dead bodies recovered from C-130 crash site in Patikul, Sulu

MANILA – At least 17 charred bodies A Philippine Air Force (PAF) C-130H Hercules transport aircraft crashed in Patikul, Sulu on Sunday morning, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) chief Gen. Cirilito Sobejana confirmed.

In an interview with reporters, Sobejana said the incident happened around 11: 30 a.m.

85 more PNP personnel recover from Covid-19

MANILA – Another 85 police personnel recovered from the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19), bringing the Philippine National Police’s total recovery tally to 25,704.

The latest PNP Health Service data released on Sunday, however, showed 90 more police officers contracted the coronavirus.

This brings the number of active cases in the police force to 1,767 out of a total of 27,544 infections since the pandemic started in March last year.

Former Pres. Noynoy Aquino, dead at 61

MANILA -- Former President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III died on Thursday morning, June 24. He was 61.

"PNoy RIP (rest in peace). [He] was rushed to hospital early this morning and passed after efforts to revive failed. Please pray for him. Salamat (Thank you)," Former Interior Sec. Mar Roxas said in a statement.

Aquino, the 15th president, the son of democracy icons Ninoy and Cory Aquino, died this morning. He was rushed at the Capitol Medical Center in Quezon City, according to Philippine Star broadsheet.
