Isulan vice mayor, councilors, nagpiyansa sa kasong graft

KORONADAL CITY - HINDI INARESTO kundi kusang nagtungo sa Isulan police station upang linawin ang usapin ng sinasabing warrant of arrest laban sa vice mayor ng Isulan at apat na town councilor.

Sinabi ni Vice Mayor Lord Dean Castillo na umugong ang balitang meron silang warrant of arrest dahil sa kasong graft.

Kaya si Vice Mayor Castillo at sina Councilors Councilors Rene Aristoza, Blit Cartojano, Gina Belmes Dael, Rayan Dumaran, Sangguniang Kabataan at ex-officiio council member Clariz Lagdamen.

All Pagalungan police personnel quarantined

MAGUINDANAO --- All 25 members of the police force in Pagalungan town have been relieved for mandatory quarantine after they tested positive for COVID-19, health and senior police officials said Thursday.

The office of Brig. Gen. Samuel Rodriguez, director of the Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region, has replaced them with an interim contingent to ensure the continuity of the operation of the Pagalungan police station.

Pagalungan, one of the 36 towns in Maguindanao, is located in the second district of the province.

Sobejana is next AFP chief

MANILA – President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed Philippine Army commander Lt. Gen. Cirilito Sobejana as the next chief of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Malacañang announced on Wednesday.

“The Palace confirms that LGEN Cirilito Sobejana will be the next Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a statement sent to Palace reporters.

Sobejana is set to replace AFP chief-of-staff Gilbert Gapay who will reach the mandatory retirement age of 56 on Feb. 4.

Priest found dead with gunshot wound near seminary

MALAYBALAY CITY – A priest assigned in the Diocese of Malaybalay was found dead with gunshot wounds on his head, police and radio reports said.

DXDB Radyo Bandillo, a Chruch-run radio based in Malaybalay identified the slain priest as Fr. Rene “Neb” Regalado who was believed to be killed while on his way to his seminary in Barangay Patpat.

His body was found at 7:30 p.m. Sunday few meters from his vehicle, a Chevrolet, near the main gate of St. John XXIII College Seminary, according to Lt. Colonel Gerry Tambis, Malaybalay City police chief.

COTABATO CITY — Chief Minister Ahod Balawag Ebrahim emphasized during his Report to the Bangsamoro on Thursday, Jan. 21, that the autonomous regional government is “not an end, but a continuation of our [Bangsamoro] struggle.”

The establishment of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), according to Ebrahim, is a product of the sacrifices and pains of the mujahedeens and communities for the sake of the struggle.

At least 6 dead in Bukidnon Air Force helicopter crash

COTABATO CITY --- Three Air Force personnel and three Army servicemen perished in a helicopter crash at Impasugong town in Bukidnon at past 2:00 p.m. Saturday, key military sources said.

Some reports said seven have perished.

The UH-1H Air Force helicopter was on a resupply mission for the Army’s 403rd Brigade in Malaybalay, Bukidnon when its engine malfunctioned, causing the crash.

Improvised explosive device recovered in Maguindanao

ZAMBOANGA CITY - Government troops recovered an improvised explosive device (IED) in Ampatuan, Maguindanao on the morning of January 4, 2021, the WestMinCom Commander said.

“Troops of the 1st Mechanized Infantry Battalion were conducting clearing operations when they discovered an IED made of 105mm projectile in Barangay Salman of the municipality of Ampatuan,” said Lt. Gen. Corleto Vinluan, Jr., Commander of the Western Mindanao Command.

DOJ eyes HDO vs. suspects in flight attendant's death

MANILA – The suspects in the death of a 23-year-old flight attendant Christine Dacera may be barred from leaving the country through the issuance of a precautionary hold departure order (PHDO), the Department of Justice (DOJ) said on Tuesday.

“For now, we’ll let the PNP (Philippine National Police) handle the case, as soon as the police file a complaint with the prosecutor’s office, we may issue a travel alert order to the Bureau of Immigration,” Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra told reporters.
