Soldier hurt as NPAs ambush Army truck in Mati City coast

MATI CITY - Inambush ng mga hinihinalang miembro ng New Peoples Army ang military truck ng 66th Infantry Battalion sa Sitio Tagawisan, Barangay Badas alas 8 ng umaga kanina.

Naganap ang ambush sa harap ng Everjoy beach resort na nasa gilid din ng highway.

Naglunsad na ng manhunt and Army at PNP habang pansamantalang pinigil ang daloy ng trapiko.

BANTAY BAGYO: Tropical Depression enters PH

The Tropical Depression east of Mindanao has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility and was named #DantePH.

At 4:00 a.m., the center of Tropical Depression #DantePH was estimated at 1,000 km east of Mindanao with maximum sustained winds of 45 kph near the center, gustiness up to 55 kph, and central pressure of 1004 hPa. It is moving west-northwestward at 15 kph.

• Heavy Rainfall: In the next 24 hours, the outer rainbands of #DantePH may bring light to moderate with at times heavy rains over Caraga and Davao Region.

Mayor of Makilala, wife test positive for COVID-19

KIDAPAWAN CITY  – Another town mayor in North Cotabato, his wife and two workers of the municipal government have tested positive of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Manuel Lalaguna, municipal administrator of Makilala, said Mayor Armando Quibod and his wife who regularly accompany the mayor in his functions as chief executive, along with two town employees are stable and currently isolated in a COVID-19 isolation facility.

Truck na may kargang mga motor nasunog sa Kidapawan City

KIDAPAWAN CITY - Nasunog ang truck na lulan ang sampung brand new motorcycle sa Barangay Sikitan, Kidapawan City pasado alas 2:00 ng hapon kanina.

Ranking female NPA leader surrenders in NoCot

MAKILALA, North Cotabato – A high-ranking leader of the Communist Party of the Philippines-New Peoples’ Army (CPP-NPA) in North Cotabato facing criminal charges voluntarily surrendered to authorities here Sunday.

Maj. Arniel Melocotones, Makilala police chief, identified the surrenderer as Lilia Cagulada Gecana alias Commander Ligaya, 63, of the NPA Guerrilla Front 72 and designated chairperson of Gabriela Malabuan Cluster.

Scattered rains over Mindanao, parts of Visayas

MANILA – Mindanao and some areas in the Visayas will experience scattered rains on Wednesday, the weather bureau said.

Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail over Eastern Visayas, Central Visayas, and Negros Occidental due to a low-pressure area (LPA) and the easterlies affecting Luzon and the Visayas.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the LPA was seen 180 km. southwest of General Santos City.
