MOH administers 55k vaccinations

COTABATO CITY — Officials of the Bangsamoro Government's Ministry of Health (MOH) announced that as of June 14, the region has already administered 55,558 vaccines against Covid-19 among its priority groups.

Health Minister Dr. Bashary Latiph said during a press conference on Tuesday, June 15, that 41,899 persons from the first priority group received their first inoculation, and 13,659 of them already completed their doses.

Dr. Latiph reiterated that people in the priority group should get vaccinated as part of the ways to fight the pandemic.

Officials anticipating flash floods in South Cotabato

KORONADAL CITY --- The South Cotabato provincial government mobilized Friday emergency responders in anticipation of possible flashfloods due to heavy downpours.

A number of barangays in South Cotabato were hit just a week ago by flashfloods spawned by torrential rains.

Tacurong City mayor succumbs to COVID-19

TACURONG CITY – Mayor Angelo Montilla of Tacurong City has succumbed to COVID-19 infections while undergoing medication at a hospital in Gen. Santos City Sunday night.

“It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the unexpected and sudden passing of our beloved mayor, Angelo ‘Roncal’ Ortizo Montilla,” the Tacurong City government announced today through its official FB page.

Allan Freno, Tacurong City spokesperson, said Mayor Roncal had tested positive for COVID-19 and was brought to a hospital in General Santos City.

KIDAPAWAN CITY - Former North Cotabato Board Member Van Cadungon, who was also a former mayor of Antipas, North Cotabato and Provincial administrator, has died, his friends confirmed today.

It was not clear what causes his death.

COVID-19 update: BARMM records 72 new infections

COTABATO CITY - The Bangsamoro Region Inter-Agency Task Force on Covid-19 today reported 72 new cases in the region with 34 recovery but no reported death.

In a bulletin released at 7 a.m. Saturday, the Ministry of Health said Maguindanao had the highest tally at 24 followed by BAsilan and Lamitan with 20 and Cotabato City with 18.

3 dead as fire hits Yellow Bus in Mlang, North Cotabato

KIDAPAWAN CITY - Tatlo katao ang nasawi matapos na masunog ang isang unit ng Yelow Bus Line sa Barangay Bialong, Mlang, North Cotabato.

Naganap ang sunog dakong alas 4 ng hapon, ayon sa pahayag ni Mlang municipal disaster risk reduction and management council (MDRRMO) head Barnardo Tayong.

Isa sa mga pasahero ang nagsabing nakita niya ang isang lalaki na tumayo, nagbuhos ng gasolina sa mga upuan at bumaba habang tumatakbo ang bus.

Hindi malinaw sa report kung kabilang sa tatlong namatay ang nagsindi sa loob ng bus.

UK at South African variant ng Covid-19, nakapasok na sa North Cotabato

Kinumpirma ni Dra. Eva Rabaya, siyang IPHO Head na nakapasok na sa North Cotabato ang UK Variant at South African Variant ng COVID-19.

Sinabi ni Dra. Rabaya sa sesyon ng Sangguniang Panlalawigan ngayong araw,ang dalawang kaso ng UK Variant ay mula Midsayap habang ang South African variant ay mula naman sa Tulunan.

Sa ngayon ay inaantay pa ng IPHO ang official report mula sa Department of Health 12 hinggil sa nasabing mga variant na nakapasok na sa probinsya.

BANTAY BAGYO: Tropical Depression enters PH

The Tropical Depression east of Mindanao has entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility and was named #DantePH.

At 4:00 a.m., the center of Tropical Depression #DantePH was estimated at 1,000 km east of Mindanao with maximum sustained winds of 45 kph near the center, gustiness up to 55 kph, and central pressure of 1004 hPa. It is moving west-northwestward at 15 kph.

• Heavy Rainfall: In the next 24 hours, the outer rainbands of #DantePH may bring light to moderate with at times heavy rains over Caraga and Davao Region.
