Commemorative stamps turnover highlights ARMM Archives Day

COTABATO CITY– The ceremonial turnover of commemorative stamps from the Philippine Postal Corp. to the Office of the Regional Governor will highlight the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao's (ARMM) first Archives Day celebration today, October 21, at this city's Shariff Kabunsuan Cultural Complex.The issuance of the stamps is in recognition of the Office of the Regional Governor’s (ORG) ISO 9001 certification following a successful two-phase external audit conducted by TUV Rheinland Philippines, Inc. This is one achievement that this administration is very proud of.

ARMM officials meet to intensify anti-poverty drive

COTABATO CITY– Officials of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) met on Wednesday to intensify the region’s anti-poverty drive aimed at uplifting the lives of poor families who are mostly living in impoverished communities. The best way to combat poverty in the region is to properly deliver the programs and projects because these will have significant effects on their daily lives,” ARMM Executive Secretary Atty. Laisa Alamia said. It will take time to solve the poverty challenge, but we in the regional government must continue to lead the fight,” said Atty.

ARMM mulls activation of local school boards

COTABATO CITY– Officials in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) are determined to harness local school boards (LSBs) in improving the state of education in the region.Alfhadar Pajiji, regional Department of Education (DepEd) assistant secretary for special projects, said they recognize the essential role of LSBs in advancing the welfare of public schools in the ARMM. The region is composed of the provinces of Sulu, Maguindanao, Basilan, Tawi-Tawi, and Lanao del Sur, as well as the cities of Marawi and Lamitan.
