Officials elated with immediate approval of 2018 ARMM budget

COTABATO CITY --- Officials construed as vote of confidence for the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao the approval in just a minute by the Senate of its P33.5 billion budget for 2018.Laisa Masuhud Alamia, ARMM’s executive secretary, said on Thursday that the hearing on the region’s 2018 budget on Wednesday lasted only for a minute, approved immediately on motion by Senator Vicente Sotto III. It was approved without tedious deliberation anymore. The hearing lasted only for about 60 seconds.

Senate OKs DAF and ARMM 2018 budget in record time

The P33.569 billion budget for the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) for 2018 was approved by the Senate without much discussion and in less than a minute Wednesday, ARMM Gov. Mujiv Hataman today said.The Senate also approved in less the 10 minutes the proposed P60.9 billion budget for the Department of Agricutlure and Fisheries, according to Sec. Emmanuel Pinol.Pinol said Senator Cynthia Villar, chair of the Committee On Agriculture, did not even read the details of the 2018 Proposed Budget.
