MAKILALA, North Cotabato – Due to continuous fall of
buying price of raw rubber products in the province, the rubber farmers are set
to hold street protests.

To be spearheaded by Makilala-based Free Tappers
Federation of North Cotabato, the protest aims to call on government to do
something on the continuous slump of price or rubber.

Anabelle Muting, secretary general of Free Tappers
federation, said the prices of rubber had been on the downward trend since 2012
and the government has not done anything about it.

Hundreds of marginalized peasants received on Tuesday rice and corn seeds and
fertilizers under a joint program of Malacañang, the Autonomous
Region in Muslim Mindanao and the Anak Mindanao (Amin) Partylist.

CITY – Farmers of two remote villages in Alamada and Makilala, both
in North Cotabato, are set to receive Agri-Tourism Package from the Department
of Agriculture (DA-12).

September.

received a P500,000 cash award from DA-12 and recommended to Gov. Emmylou
Mendoza to make use of the fund for the establishment of Organic Strawberry

KIDAPAWAN CITY
– To increase productivity and improve farmers’ income, the North Cotabato
office of the provincial agriculturist (OPAg) distributed more than 4,000 bags
of palay seeds and 1,042 open pollinated variety (OPV) of white corn seeds.

The seed
distribution was part of the Provincial Rice and Corn Calamity Seeds Assistance
Program (PRCCSA).

Provincial
Agriculturist Engr. Eliseo M. Mangliwan said the beneficiaries were victims of
latest flash floods and floods that hit the agricultural areas of North
Cotabato.

COTABATO
CITY – The Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) has
turned over more than P10 million agricultural support to farmers’ cooperatives
in Lanao del Sur, an agriculture official said today.
”Aside from helping farmers become more productive, this
is part of the preparations for the eventual coming in of a new political
entity that will replace the current ARMM,” Lawyer Makmod Mending Jr,
Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DAF-ARMM) regional secretary told
reporters.

COTABATO CITY -Agriculture officials today urged farmers in four provinces and five cities to continue using bio-control agents in fighting unfriendly pests that destroy crops. The appeal was made by Amalia Jayag-Datukan, regional executive director of Department of Agriculture (DA-12) during the first ever Biological Control Forum organized by the Regional Crops Protection Center (RPC) of DA-12 attended by about 850 farmer leaders.

- Around 4,000 farmers from Lanao Del Sur attended a forum in Marawi City where agriculture officials providedgovernment support to agriculture in the province.

The farmers’
forum, organized by the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries in the
Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (DAF-ARMM) and the Anak Mindanao (AMIN)
Partylist, was designed to help officials identify the concerns of farmers in
the province and assist them access government support, according to ARMM

CITY - The prices of palay have started to decrease due to rainy season in South Cotabato, the
Provincial Agriculture Office reported today. Letty
Hansi, Provincial Agriculture Office agribusiness section focal person, said from
P18.00 to P19.50 in the previous weeks, palay is now sold at P16.00 to P18.00
per kilo. The
