KIDAPAWAN CITY – Two organic products from North Cotabato are making waves in World Organic Trade Expo in Germany, officials said today. This is the second time in two years that these two highly acclaimed organic products from the province were on display in the BIOFACH Organic Trade Fair Exhibition Center of Nuremberg, Germany along with other organic food products from all over the world. The Tree of Life Coco Sugar of Carmen town and Bios-Dynamis Black and other rice varieties from Makilala and Mlang, all in North Cotabato are currently exhibited in the fair.

KIDAPAWAN CITY -– A total of 603 farmers in four municipalities and a city in North Cotabato received inorganic fertilizers from the office of the provincial agriculturist Wednesday.The beneficiaries were members of Small Water Impounding System Association (SWISA) in the towns of Matalam, Midsayap, Aleosan Pigcawayan and Kidapawan City, according to provincial agriculturist Eliseo Mangliwan.Each farmer owns at least one hectare or more of farmland.Mangliwan said funds used for the inorganic fertilizer dispersal were taken from the amount won by the provincial government from the Department

KORONADAL CITY - The procurement price of palay is risingin South Cotabato, an official of theNational Food Authority (NFA) said today. Roque Hilario, NFA South Cotabato assistant provincial manager, said local farmers are now selling their clean and dry commercial rice at P16 to P17.50 per kilo while the wet rice is sold at P15. Hilario said the current price is P1.00 to P1.50 higher compared from the previous weeks. With the ending of the harvest season, it is expected that procurement price of palay will also increase,” Hilario told DXOM FM Koronadal Thursday.

KIDAPAWAN CITY - After rubber prices slump, rice farmers in North Cotabato are now complaining of low buying price of palay.To help farmers,Agerico Baquiran, North Cotabato provincial NFA administrator, said farmers are encouraged to sell their farm produce to NFA buying station.Baquiran said the NFA is buying palay at P17 per kilo as compared to buying price of private traders which, as of Sunday, was between P11 to P14 a kilo.He said farmers who wish to sell palay to NFA are required to secure barangay clearance.

CITY – At least 32 farmers in Makilala and Tulunan, both in North
Cotabato, are expected to be more productive in 2015 after the provincial
veterinary office dispersed large work animals over the weekend, officials said
