Tboli athlete wins gold medal, breaks Palarong Pambansa record

DAVAO CITY -- Hindi makapaniwala ang dose anyos at T’boli Player na si Hazel Domocum ng Banga, South Cotabato na makasungkit ito ng Gold medal sa huling sabak sa Palarong Pambansa na ginaganap ngayon sa Davao City.

Hindi lamang simpleng tagumpay ang natamo ni Domocum dahil nabuwag nito ang 5.07 meters record sa long jump girls/elementary na naitala ng taga Western Visayas na si Alyssa Marie Andrade sa Palarong Pambansa sa Tarlac noong 2010.

Si Domocum, 12 taon gulang, ay nakapagtala ng bagong record na 5.08 meters sa nasabing event. Ayon kay Domocum hindi naging madali ang pinagdaanan nito bago natamo ang tagumpay sa Palarong pambansa.

Bilang gold medalist, siya ay tatanggap ng P20,000 incentive mula sa Department of Education bukod pa sa mga tatanggapin niyang pabuya mulasa provincial government of South Cotabato.

Sinabi ni Domocum na gagamitin nito ang P20,000 sa pagpapaayos ng kanilang bahay.

Maliban sa long jump, umaasa rin si Domocum na makakakuha ito ng dagdag na panalo sa 4x100 meter relay event.

Labis naman ang saya ng kanyang coach na si Miss Liza Jane Dela Peña.
