Tacurong beautician survives gunman's bullets

TACURONG CITY - A day after a barangay health worker was killed here, another shooting incident occurred before dawn today but the victim, a beautician, survived, police said.Supt. Junny Buenacosa, Tacurong City police chief, said a lone gunman tried to kill Virgilio Hachuela, 36, of Purok Dahlia, BarangayBaras, Tacurong City.The attempt on the life of Hachuela happened in Barangay New Isabela at about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday.It was not clear where exactly the shooting transpired but he sustained minor bullet injuries on his head and back. He is now recuperating in a private hospital.Investigators are still determining the motive and identities of the attacker.A day earlier, Josie Caballaje, 60, was killed by still unidentified gunman righter she alighted from a tricycle near the city public market.Like Hachuela, Caballaje is a resident of Barangay Baras where she was the barangay health worker.Police are also determining if the twin incidents were in anywayrelated.
