MAGUINDANAO --- Government agents seized P6.8 million worth of shabu from two drug dealers arrested in an entrapment operation Thursday in Shariff Aguak town.

Samrod Mamasainged Damada and Norodin Datala were frisked and cuffed while about to sell their illegal merchandise to non-uniformed agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

Juvenal Azurin, director of PDEA-BARMM, said the operation that led to the duo’s arrest was carried out based on tips from vigilant officials of the Shariff Aguak, local government unit.

Azurin said the sting was laid with the help of the Maguindanao provincial police, the Army’s 1st Mechanized Infantry Battalion and municipal officials.

He said the suspects, now clamped down in the detention facility of PDEA-BARMM, shall be charged with Republic Act 9165, also known as the Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Azurin said one of them shall also be prosecuted for possession of an unlicensed M16 rifle and ammunition.
