P6.8-M shabu seized in Lanao Sur sting, 2 suspects falls

COTABATO CITY  -- After two weeks of surveillance operations, anti-narcotic operatives arrested today two big time drug peddlers and seized a kilo of suspected shabu with market value of P6.8 million.

The during drug buy bust operation was conducted at 12:30 Friday afternoon in Wao, Lanao del Sur.

Police Col. Madzagani Mukaram, Lanao Sur police provincial chief, said his unit provided support to the PDEA operation.

Director Juvenal Blanquera Azurin together with PDEA Region Office XII, Wao MPS, Bravo Coy, 34thInfantry Battalion, Philippine Army, LDS PPO and CIDG BARMM identified the arrested suspects as Darangji Ombo Angatong alias Salaudin, Filipino, 54 years old, male, married, farmer and a resident of Sitio Sabang, Poblasyon 2, Banisilan, North Cotabato and Lendi Asiw Mangondacan a High Value Target for being a member of Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), 26 years old, male, single, driver and a resident of Barangay Boot, Wao, Lanao Del Sur who suffered gunshot wound and was immediately brought to Hospital for medical treatment.

However, suspect alias Nanao eluded arrest who draw and fired a pistol towards the operating troops which prompted the team to engaged and caused a firefight.

Seized during the sting operation were one (1) piece pink bag labeled “TORY BURCH” containing one (1) self-sealing bag containing white crystalline substance suspected to be Methamphetamine Hydrochloride known as “shabu” weighing MOL 1,000.00 grams with estimated value of PHP 6,800,000.00, buy-bust money, eight (8) pieces assorted identification cards, one (1) unit vehicle blue diamond KIA Picanto, one (1) piece brown wallet containing two (2) pieces genuine one thousand (PHP1,000.00) peso bills, one piece LANDBANK ATM card and one (1) unit black Oppo cellular phone.

 

Mangondacan allegedly resisted, fled and traded shots with lawmen but was quickly subdued and was slightly wounded. He was rushed to Wao district hospital.

The suspects are now in PDEA custodial facility in Cotabato City.
