NORTH COTABATO --- The Moro Islamic Liberation Front lost a senior leader in an ambush in Matalam town Tuesday.

Kagui Mansor Imbong, a ranking official in the MILF’s 108th Base Command, was on a motorcycle when he was attacked by gunmen while motoring through a busy road in Barangay Elian in Matalam, North Cotabato.

He died on the spot from multiple bullet wounds.

North Cotabato Gov. Nancy Catamco, chairperson of the provincial peace and order council, has called on the Police Regional Office-12 to do its best in identifying his killers for them to be prosecuted immediately.

Personnel of the Matalam municipal police have enlisted the help of barangay officials in trying to determine the exact identities of the culprits. []
