Maguindanao village chair, treasurer and 2 others ambushed in Cotabato City

COTABATO CITY – Unidentified gunmen ambushed today a Maguindanao village chair, his wife and two others, including the village treasurer, along the busy Notre Dame Avenue.

Kasan Sendad, a tricycle driver, said the victims were all on board a Toyota Vios car going to Notre Dame Avenue from Quezon Avenue at past 1:30 p.m.

Police later identified the victims as Norodin Mangandian Guiaman, 34, chairman of Barangay Tuka, Mamasapano, Maguindanao, Sindatu Agao, village treasurer of Tuka; Basser Ampatuan Guiaman, 41, a member of Barangay Tuka’s armed peacekeeping unit, and a certain Alwaida Mangacop Guiaman, 28.

Witnesses said two of the four men on board separate motorbikes were seen firing at the color Silver Gray Toyota Vios (temporary plate number 111209).

The suspects fled after the shooting.

Responding police rushed the victims to various hospitals.
