Gunmen kill 2 soldiers in Buldon, Maguindanao

BULDON, Maguindanao– Unidentified gunmen shot dead two soldiers of the 37th Infantry
Battalion in Barangay Poblacion hereMonday night, police said.

Inspector
Sariko Akmad, Buldon police chief, said the two soldiers, identified as
Corporals Nerger Pinero and Jamalil Bulay-Bulay, were in civilian attire and
heading toward the town’s public market when shot at close range at past 6 p.m.

Akmad,
said the soldiers, both belonging to Bravo company of the 37th IB,
were rushed to the hospital by responding policemen but declared dead on
arrival.

Akmad
admitted his investigators remain clueless as to the identities of the gunmen.

Police
believed the suspects were after the M-16 Armalite rifle of Pinero. Bulay-Bulay was unarmed.

No one
has claimed responsibility.
