Gunman shoots Bombo Radyo studio in Gen. Santos City

GEN. SANTOS CITY  – Unidentified gunman strafed the broadcast studio of Bombo Radyo Philippines here Wednesday night, police said.

Lt. Colonel Aldrin Gonzales, speaking for police in the Soccsksargen region, told the www.ndbcnews.com.ph that nobody was hurt in the strafing of Radio Station DXES (Radyo Bombo-GenSan).

He said Brig. Gen. Eliseo Tam Rasco, police director for the Soccsksargen region based in this city, has ordered the police to identify the perpetrator and bring the suspects before the bar of justice.

Quoting a report from Gen. Santos City Police Office, Gonzales a red pick-up truck was seen passing by in front of the Bombo Radyo broadcast studio along Amao Road, Barangay Bula, Gen. Santos City at about 8:30 p.m.

The station’s security guard saw the driver pulling out a pistol and opened fire while speeding past the studio.

The truck without license plate came from Gensanville subdivision and sped toward the downtown area.

One of the bullets pierced through the glass door, Gonzales said.

Gonzales said motive of the strafing and the identities of the attacker remained unknown as of posting.

In its Facebook page, Bombo Radyo GenSan the station will continue to stand for truth.

“Magpadayon gihapon kami sa pagyagyag sa kamatuoran (We will continue to proclaim the truth),” the station management said.
