Farmer killed, son wounded in Pikit shooting incident

NORTH COTABATO  --- A farmer was killed while his son was badly wounded when gunmen shot with assault rifles their shanty in Pikit town in North Cotabato on Thursday.

The 55-year-old Ampog Tejero died on the spot from multiple gunshot wounds.

He and his son were together in their house in Barangay Silik in Pikit, North Cotabato when the suspects arrived and opened fire.

Tejero’s wounded son, Padido, was rushed by responding barangay officials and volunteer community watchmen to a hospital for treatment.

Personnel of the Pikit municipal police are still trying to identify the culprits and determine their real motive for the attack.
