COTABATO CITY  – A former drug peddler who already mend ways and volunteered to help the government fight illegal drugs was the key in the arrest Tuesday of three big time peddlers and seizure of P34-M shabu in Tawi-Tawi, an anti-narcotic official today said.

Director Juvenal Azurin of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA-BARMM) revealed that the covert operation was quickly launched after the information was verified and validated.

“Our asset helped us a lot in this operation,” Azurin said of the arrest of Haberson Jaafar, Elmer Jamadin and Adzfar Asali.

They have been peddling illegal drugs in the town of Bongao, Tawi-Tawi.

A total of P34 million worth of shabu were seized from the suspects, including an Armalite rifle.

They were immediately nabbed after one of the handed over the stuff to an undercover agent. (FC)
