BARMM is 2019 Mindanao’s top region in good governance practices

COTABATO CITY  - The moral governance inspired leadership is considered as “good harvest” for the Bangsamoro Government.

This was how Interior and Local Government Minister Attorney Naguib Sinarimbo described the 28 Local Government Units (LGU’s) conferred today in the Seal of Good Local Governance awarding by the Department of Interior and Local Government in Manila.

“This made us stand the longest on stage to join Secretary (Eduardo) Ano congratulating the awardees in our region,” he said in his facebook post.

Sinarimbo thanked his team during the audit and validation and the extra work exerted by respective LGU’s to achieve this feat.

BARMM is 5th in the total ranking all over the country in compliance and has improved from 23 LGU’s awarded last year to 28 this year.

SGLG core areas objective for excellence and continuous improvement of local governance covers Financial Administration; Disaster Preparedness; Social Protection; Peace and Order; Business Friendliness and Competitiveness; Environmental Protection; and Tourism Culture and the Arts.

Maguindanao awardees are Barira, Buldon,Datu Abdullah Sangki, Datu Paglas, Datu Piang, Guindulungan, Kabuntalan, Matanog, Paglat, Shariff Aguak, South Upi, Sultan Kudarat and Sultan Sa Barongis.

Lanao Del Sur's awardees are Balabagan, Buadiposo, Buntong, Calanogas, Kapatagan, Piagapo and Taraka.

Tawi-Tawi has Sibuto and Simunol.

Basilan has Maluso and Sumisip.

While Sulu has lone Talipao town.

In Maguindanao, Governor Bai Mariam Sangki-Mangudadatu immediately met with awardee chief executives in Manila hotel where she vowed to add prices to the achiever towns of this year as her way of thanking them for the effort to uplift governance in their respective municipalities.
