2 die in Cotabato City Tuesday night shooting

COTABATO CITY - Two persons were killed while three of their friends managed to flee as masked gunmen opened fire on them while they were on a drinking session inside a restaurant along Notre Dame Avenue, Poblacion 3, Cotabato City Tuesday night.

The restaurant owner, asking he remained unidentified, said he was washing dishes when a lone gunman arrived and opened fire on two victims.

A companion of the gunman came in and yelled his colleague to leave the place quickly.

The restaurant owner joined other customers in fleeing.

More shots were fired, he recalled to reporters.

After the gunmen left, he found his two regular clients lying lifeless, one inside the restauirant and the other outside.

Responding police rushed the victims to a government hospital but were both declared dead on arrival.

Police later identified them as Sabang Anwar, 34 and a resident of Barangay Limbo in Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao and Tho Ga, a resident of Barangay Macagiling of the same town.

Police are still investigating the crime as of posting.
