1 of 2 missing Pinoys found in Phuket

COTABATO CITY – The remains of one of the two Filipinos who went missing in Phuket, Thailand on Wednesday was found Friday afternoon, the family here has confirmed.

The lifeless body of Noah “Twitt” Ibay II was found by Thai rescue workers not far from the site where he was last seen.

Family members and friends confirmed the discovery of the 40-year-old Ibay’s body.

His companion, Angelo Bien Rafael Cortez, 29, remained missing as of posting.

The two and 11 others, including Lito Cortez, Angelo’s father, were in Phuket for a week-long vacation. 

Cortez, a nurse and Ibay were not swimming but whilign away beside the beach when hit by high waves.

TGhe recovery of the remains of one of two missing persons was confirmed by Kwanchanok Tanachasakarn of the Kusoldharm Foundation, a non-profit that provides emergency assistance to tourists and residents in the island.

Search and rescue operations are ongoing.
