Army shells Dawlah Islamiya lairs in Maguindanao

MAGUINDANAO ---- Three more members of the Dawlah Islamiya terror group were reported killed as the Army bombarded with artillery its remaining hideouts in Shariff Saidona Mustapha on Thursday.

Local officials and barangay leaders said the offensive, the second since last week, forced Dawlah Islamiya gunmen to scamper further into the Liguasan Delta carrying four wounded companions, two of them nephews of the wanted terrorist Abu Toraife.


P6.8 million worth of shabu seized in latest PDEA-BARMM bust

MAGUINDANAO --- Government agents seized P6.8 million worth of shabu from two drug dealers arrested in an entrapment operation Thursday in Shariff Aguak town.

Samrod Mamasainged Damada and Norodin Datala were frisked and cuffed while about to sell their illegal merchandise to non-uniformed agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.

1 dead, 1 critical in 2 gun attacks in South Cotabato town

KORONADAL CITY - Police are now investigating two separate shooting incidents that transpired in Polomolok town in South Cotabato on Wednesday that left one dead and another in critical condition.

In a report, Lt. Col. Marvin Duadua, Polomolok police chief, said the first shooting occurred at 10 a.m. along the national highway between Barangay Rubber and Barangay Poblacion, Polomolok.

The unidentified victim was driving black Honda Wave motorbike heading toward Polomolok. Two men riding on separate motorbike drove near him and shot him.


Explosion rip through premises of church in Datu Piang

MAGUINDANAO --- A grenade blast rocked late Monday the vicinity of a Catholic church in Datu Piang town that a militant bloc that residents hate for acts of terror had threatened to destroy.  

No one was hurt in the explosion that ripped through the premises of the St. Therese church in the town proper of Datu Piang, Maguindanao at past 7:00 p.m. Monday but the incident triggered panic among villagers.


Village councilman, 2 others slain in NoCot gun attack

PIKIT, North Cotabato – An incumbent village councilor and two others were killed when unidentified gunmen sprayed them with bullets while in a roadside drinking session in Barangay Takepan here Saturday night.

Police Capt. Mautin Pangandigan, Pikit town police chief, said in a radio interview that the victims were having drinking session in Sitio Vilo, Barangay Takepan, Pikit, North Cotabato when the gunman opened fire at 6:45 p.m.

Sa report ng PNP, nasawi on the spot si Diaz habang idineklara namang dead on arrival sa hospital si Guiamalon.


5 killed in latest central Mindanao gun attacks

SULTAN KUDARAT --- Five people, among them a barangay official, got killed in gun attacks in Central Mindanao in two days amid a government campaign against unauthorized carrying of firearms.

A woman also sustained a bullet wound when armed guests to a wedding in a remote barangay in Midsayap town in North Cotabato fired guns overhead in a revelry that scared villagers in farming enclaves nearby.


3 men slain in Lambayong ambush


LAMBAYONG, Sultan Kudarat – Three men believed to be related by blood were killed in an ambush along the national highway here Tuesday afternoon, police said.

The Lambayong Municipal Police Office, in a report, identified the victims as Nhor Talib, 34, Toton Ibad, 25 and Mike Ibad, 57, all residents of Barangay Namnama, Lamabyong.

Investigation showed that the victims were on board a tricycle driven by Mike Ibad when two men on motorbike shot them using gun guns along the national road in Barangay Maligaya.


NoCot village exec shot dead

KABACAN, North Cotabato  – Two men riding tandem on a motorbike shot dead a village official here on Sunday while he was on his way to his farm, police said.

Mayor Herlo Guzman Jr of Kabacan condemned the murder of Ben Candaganan, village chief of Barnagay Lower Paatan, Kabacan, North Cotabato province.

Citing report from Kabacan municipal police office, Colonel Maximo Layugan, North Cotabato police director, sa Candaganan, 43, was riding on his motorbike alone heading to his farm when gunmen on separate motorbike shot him.
