Pikit resident killed in another gun attack

NORTH COTABATO --- A man armed with a pistol shot dead Boyet Baclayon in the premises of a public school in Barangay Silik in Pikit town in North Cotabato today, August 19, 2019.

Personnel of the Pikit municipal police are still investigating on the incident.

The town’s police chief is expected to release an initial statement on the incident by Tuesday, August 20.

Another villager killed in Pikit, North Cotabato

NORTH COTABATO --- Gunmen shot dead a villager and wounded another in an attack late Thursday in Pikit town in this province.

The 27-year-old Steve Mark Delamide died on the spot from multiple bullet wounds.

Personnel of the Pikit municipal police are still trying to identify the gunmen who shot with assault rifles Delamide’s house in Sitio Pogpog in Barangay Poblacion, Pikit in an attack that resulted in his death.

Peace Seminar for college students held in Kathmandu

On 11th of August, a peace seminar titled “Voice of Youth: Youth, be Ambitious for Peace” was delivered to the students at Liberty College affiliated to Pokhara University in Kathmandu, Nepal by Mr. Laxman Datt Pant, Chairperson of Media Action Nepal.

The seminar was organized by international peace NGO Heavenly Culture, World Peace, Restoration of Light (HWPL) in cooperation with Liberty College and Media Action Nepal.

Cotabato City gets 130 militiamen to help secure city

COTABATO CITY  – Peacekeeping in this city got a boost with the turnover Saturday of 130 newly trained paramilitary troops who will help in maintaining law and order.

City Mayor Cynthia Guiani-Sayadi welcomed the 130 Special Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit Active Auxiliary (SCAA) who were turned over by Major. Gen. Diosdado Carreon, 6th Infantry Division commander, to the supervision and control of Joint Task Force Kutawato (JTFK) Commander Colonel Joel Abregana and Mayor Guiani-Sayadi.

2 dead in Antipas, Midsayap shooting incidents

NORTH COTABATO – Two were killed, one of them a Christian pastor, while three others were badly wounded in separate shooting incidents in this province from late Thursday to early Friday.

Ernesto Estrella, 51, a leader of a local Christian sect, was driving his motorcycle in the town center of Antipas, North Cotabato when two men armed with pistols attacked.

He was killed on the spot from bullet wounds in different parts of his body.

Personnel of the Antipas municipal police are still investigating on the incident.

Thieves rob Matalam treasurer's office

MATALAM, North Cotabato - Pinasok ng di pa kilalang mga magnanakaw ang Treasurer’s Office sa bayan ng Matalam, North Cotabato alas 11:00 ng gabi noong Mierkules.

Personal na dumulog sa tanggapan ng Matalam PNP si Ernesto Turba Mondajir, 39 anyos at isang Municipal employee ng nasabing bayan upang i-report na pinasok ang kanilang opisina.

Sinasabing dumaan ang mga suspect sa butas na paglalagyan sana ng air conditioner dahil napag-alamang inaayos pa ang nasabing building.

1 killed, 3 hurt in Midsayap shooting

MIDSAYAP, North Cotabato  – A carpenter was killed while his three companions were injured when two gunmen opened fire on them while in drinking session in Barangay Salunayan Wednesday night.

Police Master Sgt. Rene Jay D. Flores, of Midsayap Municipal Police Office and investigator on case, identified the slain carpenter as Ronald Mallari, 44, a resident of Barangay Salunayan.

Injured were Marius Dondon Hernane, 45, Mike Casildo Gumayao, 64, both construction workers and Michael John dela Cruz Gumayao, 36, driver, all residents of Barangay Salunayan.

KORONADAL CITY - Dead on arrival sa South Cotabato Provincial Hospital ang biktima na kinilala kay Ronelo D. Lumawag, 43 anyos, may asawa at utility worker sa provincial capitol matapos pagtatagain ng kasamahan sa trabaho gamit ang bolo.

Kinilala ang suspek kay Ric S. Villa, 59 anyos, may asawa at empleyado ng Provincial Government bilang utility worker.

Sa imbestigasyon ng Koronadal PNP, nangyari ang pananaga pasado alas 6:00 ng umaga kahapon sa compound nang provincial capitol kung saan mayroong hindi pagkakaunawaan sa pagitan ng suspek at biktima.

Police neutralize 2 drug dealers in Datu Odin Sinsuat

MAGUINDANAO --- Two drug traffickers who doubled as guns-for-hire were killed in a shootout with police agents in Datu Odin Sinsuat town in this province Sunday.

Adrian Amando and Anthony Balleque, who sustained gunshot wounds in different parts of their bodies, were declared dead on arrival by attending physicians at a hospital in nearby Cotabato City.

Military targeting BIFF hitmen on motorcycles

COTABATO CITY --- The military is targeting to neutralize a group of Islamic State-inspired hitmen responsible for the never ending killings of off-duty soldiers in the city and nearby towns.

Among the latest fatalities in the continuing attacks on unsuspecting unarmed soldiers is Corporal Pacifico Obillo of the 5th Special Forces Battalion based in the city.
