Gov. Catamco, military accompany Pikit IDPs back to their villages

PIKIT, North Cotabato -- Hundreds of families have started returning home Thursday after months in evacuation centers here, accompanied by no less than the provincial governor.

The exodus back home of some 2,000 families started at about noon with North Cotabato Gov. Nancy Catamco, Pikit Mayor Sumulong Sultan and 601st Army Brigade commander Brig. Gen. Roberto Capulong leading the sendoff program. 

The return of IDPs will continue Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

KORONADAL CITY  -- Nasa custody na ngayon ng Banga PNP ang suspek na pumatay sa tatlong magkakamaganak nito sa pamamagitan ng pananaga sa Banga, South Cotabato noong Myerkules ng gabi.

Ang suspek na si Gido Blatang Sumili na gumamit ng alyas Paul Bautista ay naaresto ng mga otoridad kanina sa kalapit na bayan ng Norala.

Matatandaan na patay on the spot sa pananaga ni Sumili gamit ang lagaraw ang 11 toang gulang na batang lalaki at byenan na si Zeleny Ramos Magno, 64 years old.

Dalawa katao patay, lima sugatan sa pananaga sa Banga, South Cotabato

Kinilala ni Banga Chief of Police, Major Joseph Forro III ang mga nasawing biktima na sina Jesmond Magno, onse anyos at Zeleny Magno, 34 years old.

Ang mga ito ay agad na binawian ng buhay sanhi ng matinding mga sugat ng pananaga. Sugatan din sa insidente sina Monlene Magno, ina ng batang biktima at live in partner ng suspek na si Paul Bautista.

P1.7 million worth of shabu seized in PDEA-ARMM bust

MAGUINDANAO --- Anti-narcotics agents seized P1.7 million worth of shabu from a large-scale trafficker who fell in an entrapment operation in Datu Odin town Wednesday.

Juvenal Azurin, director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, identified the suspect as Jordan Rakim of Datu Anggal town in Maguindanao.

Rakim is now in the custody of PDEA-BARMM.

OFW, 2 cops new COVID-19 positive in Cotabato City

COTABATO CITY --- Two police officers and a returning OFW were among the latest positive cases strictly monitored in an isolation facility in Cotabato City’s Ligtas COVID-19 isolation center.

Dr. Meyasser Patadon, the city health chief  confirmed that two policemen found to have positive from COVID-19 were the result of the rapid test conducted to the city frontliners.

Cotabato City is conducting rapid test to 250 policemen assigned in the city.

“We cannot say that it’s a local contamination yet, we are still tracing and investigating it thoroughly,” Patadon said.

Koronadal village official's pick-up rams welcome rotunda, is hurt

KORONADAL CITY - A speeding Toyota Hi-Lux vehicle rammed into the Koronadal City welcome rotunda (more known as roubdball) and landed in the middle.

Barangay Kagawad Eric Domingo of Barangay Caloocan, Koronadal City was driving the vehicle alone when the freak accident happened at about 3:54 a.m. today, traffic police office reported.

The village official was injured and was rushed to the hospital.

Pikit IDPs to return home with gov't help

CARMEN, North Cotabato – After staying in cramped and unsanitary evacuation centers, hundreds of Moro families displaced by hostilities due to feuding Moro clans in PIkit are expected to return home Wednesday with the help of the provincial government.

These internally displaced persons (IDPs) are expected to be sent to their villages of Dalingaoen, Nunguan, Balatican and Balungis, all in Pikit, North Cotabato.

This after North Cotabato Gov. Nancy Catamco met with Brig. Gen. Roberto Capulong, 602nd Infantry Brigade commander and other stakeholders.

GEN. SANTOS CITY  - In line with its intensified campaign against all forms of criminality, the police had conducted Simultaneous Law Enforcement Operation in SOCCSKSARGEN Region on Jun 8, 2020, which resulted in the arrest of 111 suspects and death of 10 drug suspects.

Dalawa katao ang nakakita sa agila na pinagtutulungang awayin ng kumpol kumpol ng mga uwak sa loobang bahagi ng isang rubber plantation.

Dali dali nilang nilapitan ang ibon at binalot ng damit. Sa taya ng mga awtoridad nasa 20 kilo ang timbang ng nasabing agila.

Nakatakdang iturnover ngayong araw ang ibon sa Department of Environment and Natural Resources o DENR.
