Dominguez assures aid for Taal Volcano victims

MANILA -- The government is committed to help areas affected by the Taal Volcano eruption to immediately address the needs of the people and the economy.

This was assured by Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III on Monday saying that officials of various government agencies are monitoring developments on the ground to properly respond to the affected families.

KORONADAL CITY - Pormal nang binuksan ang Professional Regulation Commission (PRC-12) service center na matatagpuan sa lower ground o basement ng New City Hall at bukas mula alas 8 ng umaga hanggang alas 5 ng hapon.

Ayon kay PRC 12 Regional Director Raquel Abrantes, pwedeng magpa-renew, authenticate at magpa-certify ng professional ID sa nasabing service center.

Dagdag pa rito ay pwede ring magproseso ng application para sa Licensure Examination For Teachers (LET) at criminology exam.

Tacurong City exec convenes census board ahead of 2020 census

TACURONG CITY – Mayor Angelo Montilla convened Thursday the Census Coordinating Board and reiterated his commitment to support the population survey of Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).

The Census Coordinating Board, chaired by the mayor, was created by virtue of Executive Order No. 27 issued last year.

Allan Freno, city information officer, said Friday they mainly discussed during the meeting preparations for the 2020 census that will be rolled out throughout the country in May.

Tacurong mayor convenes census board ahead of 2020 population survey

Standing by his commitment to support the activities of Philippine Statistics Authority, Mayor Angelo Montilla convened the Tacurong City Census Coordinating Board today to discuss tasks to be undertaken on the upcoming 2020 Census of Population and Housing.

The board, chaired by the mayor, is created by virtue of Executive Order No. 27 issued last year.

Discussed mainly during the meeting was the preparation for the 2020 census that will be rolled out throughout the country in the month of May.

PDEA dismantles drug den, arrests owner, 4 drug suspects

KORONADAL CITY  – Anti-narcotics and police operatives dismantled on Wednesday stumbled upon a drug den while conducting drug buy bust operation in Barangay Apopong, Gen. Santos City.

Director Naravy Duquiatan of PDEA-Soccsksargen said anti-narcotics agents and police were only after Kim Bautista, 28 who was peddling illegal drugs along Purok Ilang-Ilang, Barnagay Apopong.

After he handed over the stuff to a poseur buyer, Bautista, a resident of Polomolok, South Cotabato, was arrested while in the house of Aldrico Lubaton in Barangay Apopong.

Catamco wants rehab program in quake affected communities intensified

KIDAPAWAN CITY – North Cotabato Governor Nancy Catamco has directed the provincial Social Welfare and Development, Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Office, Provincial Engineering and other divisions to intensify facilitating support for the earthquake victims.

This as many displaced families remain in evacuation sites for the past 60 days following the series of earthquakes that rocked the province.

COTABATO CITY  - A women's tribal group in Maguindanao has offered rituals and prayer calling the “Goddess of Fire” to shower more rains in Australia badly hit by huge forest fires.

The Teduray-Lambangian Women’s Organization Incorporated (TLWOI) has gathered few dozen of their members in a ritual site in South Upi, Maguindanao early today to seek “Frayag Sarif,” the goddess of fire of the tribe to bring rain and help ease the raging fire in many communities in Australia that brought huge damages to properties and has claimed death of humans and forest animals.

BARMM cops arrest Maguindanao massacre suspect

COTABATO CITY — Police authorities in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) today announced the arrest Monday of one of the accused in the Maguindanao massacre case.

He was one of the more than 80 suspects who remained at large.

In a news release, Brig. Gen. Marni Marcos, BARMM police regional director, said Faisal Dimaukom alias Kagi Faizal was nabbed at 5:05 a.m. following a pivotal intelligence gathering and operation of the police.
