Suspected cases of ASF found in Koronadal, 40 hogs buried

KORONADAL CITY - Ipinalibing na kaninang umaga ng lokal na pamahalaan ng Koronadal ang mahigit 40 baboy na pinaghihinalaang may African Swine Fever o ASF.

Pero ayon kay Koronadal Mayor Eliordo Ogena, inaalam pa ng lokal na pamahalaan kung saan napunta ang dalawang iba pa na kasama ng mga ito na dinala sa Koronadal.

Kasama ng City Veterinary Office sa pag-track down sa mga ito ang Department of Agriculture 12 at Provincial Veterinary Office ng South Cotabato.


BARMM to extend relief support to Jolo fire victims

COTABATO CITY --- The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao will initially distribute 3,000 packs of cereals and other food provisions to victims of Monday’s big fire in Jolo, Sulu.

No fewer than 2,000 families were reportedly dislocated by the incident.

The relief mission the Bangsamoro administration is to conduct was announced Tuesday by BARMM’s executive secretary, Abdulraof Macacua, also concurrent Bangsamoro natural resources minister.


Big fire hit seaside dwelling enclaves in Jolo

COTABATO CITY --- Hundreds of houses got razed by fire that hit seaside dwelling enclaves in Barangay Tulay in Jolo town in Sulu on Monday morning.

Reports reaching the Police Regional Office-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in nearby Parang town in Maguindanao province said the fire in Jolo started at 9:30 a.m. Monday.

Jolo is the capital town of the island Sulu province.

The fire immediately spread through Jolo’s old historic Chinese pier and Alat areas, both congested with stilt houses on coastlines made of light materials.


206 new privates added to different 6th ID units

COTABATO CITY --- The Army’s 6th Infantry Division dispatched Saturday 206 new privates to different units in central Mindanao for security missions and projects complementing the southern peace process.

They were sent off by 6th ID’s commander, Major Gen. Diosdado Carreon, who is also in control of the anti-terror Joint Task Force Tugis guarding the region from local groups operating in the fashion of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria.


Cops arrest man with guns, drugs in NoCot

COTABATO CITY  – Police authorities in North Cotabato are preparing charges against a man in Kabacan town who was arrested for possession of unlicensed guns and illegal drugs, a police officer today said.

Major Peter Pinalgan Jr, Kabacan town police chief, said King Gatus Saladaga, 29, failed to present documents legalizing his possession of two cal. 45 pistols the police found during the implementation of search warrant on his house Friday dawn.


South Upi town official killed in gun attack

MAGUINDANAO --- Gunmen killed Thursday the president of the association of barangay captains in an upland town in the province.

The 37-year-old Jordan Abdulrahman Ibrahim, chairperson of Barangay Pilar in South Upi town in Maguindanao, died on the spot from multiple bullet wounds.

He and his wife were buying fruits from a roadside vendor along a stretch of the Cotabato-Davao Highway in Barangay Dalumangkob in Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao when men on motorcycles arrived and shot him with .45 caliber pistols.

Kinilala ang biktima na si Remely Jombitado Iral, 42 anyos .

Duguan man at puno ng saksak sa iba’t ibang parte ng katawan nakahingi pa ng tulong sa pinakamalapit na bahay ang biktima.

Ito ay matapos umanong itapon ng mga suspek sa gitna ng pineapple plantation sa barangay Kablon,Tupi.

Escort of police general killed, 3 cops wounded in NPA attack

COTABATO CITY --- A police general survived an ambush Wednesday by New People’s Army guerillas in Talakag town in Bukidnon but one of his escorts was not as lucky.

Brig. Gen. Joselito Salido, deputy director for the Directorate for Integrated Police Operation in Eastern Mindanao, and his subordinates were together in a vehicle that NPAs shot with assault rifles while passing by Barangay Dominorog en route to the center of Talakag to inspect the municipal police office.

One of Salido’s escort, Cpl. Roel Sumaylo, died on the spot from multiple bullet wounds.


1 kilo shabu seized in Marawi entrapment ops

COTABATO CITY --- Authorities seized P6.8 million worth of shabu from two Maranaw drug dealers arrested in Marawi City on Wednesday morning.

Juvenal Azurin, director of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, said drug traffickers Manumbilao Tocalo and Muhajir Usman Samad were immediately frisked and cuffed after a tradeoff with non-uniformed PDEA-BARMM agents near the commercial center inside the campus of the Mindanao State University.
