Marines, Cops arrest 3, seize guns in Double Barrel campaign

KOROANDAL CITY -- Joint police and Philippine Marines forces arrested today three persons and seized high powered firearms and illegal drugs in a remote village in Kalamansig, Sultan Kudarat. In his report to Sultan Kudarat police provincial office,Senior Inspector Patrick Elma, Kalamansig town police chief, said elements of Kalamansig PNP and 7th Marine Battalion landing team raided a house in the coastal village of Nalilidan and seized 81 sachets of methamphetamine hydrochloride, cal. 60 machine gun, cal. 45 pistols, hand held radio, home made pistols and assorted ammunition for cal.

7 die in Army-BIFF skirmishes in Maguindanao

Maguindanao – Six Moro rebels and a soldier were when clashes erupted
early Tuesday between government forces and outlawed Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom
Fighters (BIFF) in Datu Shariff Saydona, Maguindanao, the Army here said.

Sobejana, commander of the 601st Infantry Brigade, said four more
members of the 34th Infantry Battalion and 10 BIFF fighters were
also wounded during the skirmishes triggered by dawn harassment Moro rebels.

CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao-- Two bandits were killed while three soldiers were wounded in a series of firefights early Tuesday in Shariff Saidona town in Maguindanao.
The hostilities erupted when members of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) ambushed a group of soldiers patrolling in Barangay Pamalian in Shariff Saidona, sparking sporadic clashes that lasted until almost noontime Tuesday.
