Cotabato Light schedules power interruption in some areas

COTABATO CITY - The National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) hasincreased the Cotabato Lightallocation to 17.15 MW. Despite the increase, it is still below the Cotabato Light's peak load requirement of 24 MW. Hence, the power firmmight be implementing 1 hour Rotational Interruption to selected feeders only.

COTABATO CITY - The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos today announced October 14, 2015 is Amon Jadid or Islamic New Year which is Muslim Holiday.Under Presidential Decree 1081, Muslim holiday is observed in the provinces of Basilan, Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao, North Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi and the cities of Cotabato, Iligan, Marawi, Pagadian and Zamboanga.

Zambo Sibugay town mayor killed in ambush vice mayor, 5 others wounded

ZAMBOANGA CITY -– A town mayor in Zamboanga Sibugay was killed while six others including a vice mayor were wounded in an ambush on the first day of the filing of the Certificate of Candidacy (CoC), the police reported Monday.Supt. William Gadayan, Zamboanga Sibugay Public Safety Company commander, said initial report showed the incident occurred around 3:50 p.m.


Cotabato Light lifts rotational brownout

COTABATO CITY - Power supply for Cotabato Light and Power Company franchise area has been normalized after the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP)Tacurong Sub-Station technical problem has been addressed, Cotabato Light today said. Please be advised that NGCP Tacurong 69KV line has been energized at 6:51 p.m. Monday. No rotational interruption is expected tonight, the Cotabato Light said in a statement.

Incumbent Shariff Aguak Vice Mayor Bai Anhara Ampatuan who is seeking her

KIDAPAWAN CITY -– Two suspected communist guerillas gunned down an Indigenous Peoples (IP)leader in a remote village in Magpet town in North Cotabato, around 1045 a.m., Sunday, police said.
Senior Inspector Felix Fornan, chief of Magpet PNP, identified the victim as Roberto Cupino, 56, mandatory representative of the indigenous peoples based in Barangay Don Panaca, Magpet.Fornan said the victim has just left his house after he talked to someone when the suspects, both armed with a long firearms, shot him in different parts of his body.


Cops eye Al-Khobar in NGCP tower bombings

PIKIT, North Cotabato -- Police named the Al-Khobar extortion group on Sunday as the persons responsible in bombing two transmission pylons of the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) in Barangay Batulawan here Friday night.Senior Insp. Sindatu Karim, Pikit town police chief, said initial investigation showed members of the Al-Khobar gang planted about six improvised explosive devices at the foot of Steel Tower Nos.
