6 hurt as pick-up truck smashes Kidapawan waiting shed

KIDAPAWAN CITY — Six persons were hurt when a pickup vehicle owned by a politician bumped the waiting shed beside the the Kidapawan-Magpet highway on Friday afternoon. Rickson Ajero, dxND Radyo-Bida technician who happened to be in the area when the incident happened, said the speeding vehicle was traversing the Magpet highway when its brake malfunctioned uponreaching Barangay Mateo in Kidapawan City. The driver can no longer control the vehicle until it bumped at the waiting shed,” Ajero said. Ajero said four persons who were sittingat the waiting shed were wounded.

Kidapawan LGU releases pension for seniors

KIDAPAWAN CITY -The Kidapawan city government released some P1.035 million as social pension to at least 345 indigent senior citizens. Each beneficiary received P3,000 social pension. Mayor Joseph Evangelista said the amount covered themonths of April until September for senior citizens who do not receive regular retirement funds from the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) or Social Security System (SSS). The funds were given to the Federation of Senior Citizens in a simple rite at the city gym here, Wednesday.


Koronadal PNP on alert as city celebrates 14th year charter day

CITY – Police here have placed its forces on heightened alert as the city
commenced its week-long 14th Charter anniversary and 4th Negosyo Festival.

(MILF) rebels clashed in a remote village of Pikit, North Cotabato Monday,
officials said today.

Colonel Audie Edralin, 7th Infantry Battalion commander, said two
warring groups all belonging to the MILF clashed starting at 8 a.m. that left
Maglalang Latip dead.


NorCot, TUCP award covered courts to 3 villages

– Three covered court projects, two of which were initiated by the Trade Union
Congress of the Philippines (TUCP) and one funded by the Provincial Government
of Cotabato were handed over to village officials of Barangays Magatos and
Pisan in Kabacan and Barangay Sikitan in Kidapawan City respectively, officials
announced Monday.

11,250 youth avail ARMM SK list up

Election officials in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) today
said the 10-day Sangguniang Kabataan registration was a success although it did
not reach its target.

Sumalipao, ARMM election officer, said 11,250 youth aged 15-17, in the
provinces of Maguindanao, Lanao del Sur, Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi have
availed of the list up from Sept. 20 to Sept. 29.
