150 vehicles impounded, motorists fined

COTABATO CITY  – The police “Oplan Lambat Bitag” in Pikit, North Cotabato has netted about 150 motor vehicles with questionable documents and motorists without or expired driver’s licenses.

Police Major Mautin Pangandigan, Pikit town police chief, said campaign was jointly conducted at 4 p.m. Thursday by the Police Regional Mobile Force Battalion 12, Traffic Management Unit of Pikit and Police Highway Patrol Group.

Maguindanao lawmaker cries justice for staff

COTABATO CITY – A Maguindanao provincial lawmaker is crying for justice for his supporter who was murdered in Koronadal City last week.

Board Member King Jhazzwer Mangudadatu of Maguindanao’s second district, said Jamael Khanda Haron who was shot dead by still unidentified gunmen while inside his black Montero along Alunan Avenue, Koronadal City, was a “soft target.”

The young lawmaker is the son of former Maguindanao Governor Esmael Toto Mangudadatu, now a congressman representing Maguindanao’s second district.

MILF official, aide slain in Tacurong City

TACURONG CITY  – An alleged field commander of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and his companion were shot dead by still unidentified gunmen at a gas station here Tuesday afternoon.

Police Lt. Colonel Rey Egos, Tacurong City police director, said the killing of Sangutin Musil alias Commander Jerry Amino, 53 and his companion, Alex Amino Toto, 30, happened at 3 p.m. at the AB Gasoline Station along Alunan highway here.

Both Musil and Toto were residents of Purok Musil, Barangay Pimbalayan, Lambayong, Sultan Kudarat.

Blast rocks Cotabato-Lebak highway, probe going on

COTABATO CITY - Police and military bomb experts are checking on a site along Kilometer 12, Barangay Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao where a loud explosion was heard from at 830 p.m. today.

Police Master Sgt. Datuguianua D Pinguiaman of Datu Odin Sinsuat municipal police office, said the blast occured along portions of the Cotabato-Lebak highway.

Bomb experts are still in the area conducting post blast investigation.

Another accident on a stretch of Cotabato-GenSan Highway

MAGUINDANAO --- A woman was reportedly killed while three others were injured in an accident involving a car and a light truck in Ampatuan town in Maguindanao Monday.

The ill-fated vehicles were from different ends of the Cotabato-GenSan Highway and collided head-on at high speed.

The light truck, carrying ice chests for fishes, swerved towards one side of the highway after hitting the car then flipped and landed on its side on a low spot along the route.

Police hunt culprits in North Cotabato gun attacks

NORTH COTABATO --- The Police Regional Office-12 said Tuesday efforts to locate the gunmen behind the fatal ambush of three farmers in Pikit and the perpetrator of another gun attack in Arakan that injured two villagers are now underway.

Lt. Col. Aldrin Gonzalez, spokesman of PRO-12, told this news outfit Tuesday that plainclothes agents are now working along with local officials in trying to identify the culprits.

3 die in North Cotabato ambush

MIDSAYAP, North Cotabato – Three persons were killed while two others were hurt in a mid-afternoon ambush in Pikit, North Cotabato today, police said.

Police Captain Mautin Pangandigan, head of Pikit municipal police office, said the ambush occurred at 3:30 p.m. particularly in Sitio Dingaya, Barangay Bulol, Pikit.

Pangandigan, in a radio interview monitored here, identified the fatalities as Maan Pananggilan, 32, Unday Abdulkadir, 29 and Mohamed Ahad, 28, all residents of Barangay Rajamuda.
