Police neutralize 3 drug dealers in President Quirino

SULTAN KUDARAT --- Three uncooperative drug peddlers were killed in a gunfight Monday with a police team that tried to search for narcotics in their lair in President Quirino town.

Tato Dilangalen, Alano Sepi Usop and a relative named Big Boy Sepi Usop all died on the spot from multiple bullet wounds.

Personnel of the Sultan Kudarat provincial police dispatched to search their hideout peacefully in Barangay Sinakulay in President Quirino, Sultan Kudarat were forced to neutralize them when resisted.

BARMM employee shot dead by motorcycle riding gunmen 

COTABATO CITY – Unidentified gunmen riding tandem on motorbike shot dead Sunday night here an employee of the Ministry of Basic, Higher and Technical Education in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (MBHTE-BARMM).

Major Rustom Pastolero, Police station 2 chief, identified the victim as Mingko Marohom Ebrahim, 32 years old, an employee of MBHTE-BARMM and resident of Barangay Rosary Heights 7, Cotabato City.

NGO spearheads outreach program for IPs in Maguindanao

UPI, Maguindanao – In celebration of Indigenous Peoples (IP) Month this October, local officials and non-government organization organized an outreach program that benefitted more than 100 pupils and their parents on Friday.

Beneficiaries of the outreach program were students of Sabaken Elementary School in Upi, Maguindanao who received dental and hygiene kits, vitamins, according to Aileen Kesa Marie Usob-Hualde, according to director of the Women Organization of Rajah Mamalu Descendants (WORMD).

KIDAPAWAN CITY -- Disaster management officials reported zero casualties and damage to properties from the magnitude 5 tremor that hit North Cotabato Friday.

“No reported damages, no reported casualties and we are glad about this report,” North Cotabato Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) action officer, Mercy Foronda, said.

NoCot town offers P200K bounty for suspects in murder of village dad

KIDAPAWAN CITY  – The local government of Pikit, North Cotabato on Friday offered P200,000 bounty for anyone who can provide information that would identify the suspects in the murder of a village councilman and two others last week.

“Hopefully, it will fast tract the investigation and bring justice to kagawad Anbdre Lumibao and two others,” Mayor Sumulong Sultan of Pikit said after meeting the town’s peace and order council (MPOC).

Phivolcs records 4 aftershocks after Makilala earthquake

KIDAPAWAN CITY - The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) recorded four aftershocks of the magnitude 5 tremor that hit Makilala, North Cotabato today.

In a bulletin, Phivolcs said the first quake came at 9:55 a.m. and was traced 16 kilometers west of Makilala. It was tectonic in origin and depth of 4 kilometers.

The first aftershock came at 10:04 a.m. with magnitude 3 and at 10:26 a.m. at magnitude 1. At 10:43 a.m. a magnitude 2.2 was recorded.  At 12:53, Phivolcs recorded another 1.7 magnitude aftershock near Tulunan town.

Ex-village councilman, lady trader slain in NoCot gun attacks

MIDSAYAP, North Cotabato  – A former village councilman and a businessman were separate killed in daylight shooting in the towns of Matalam and Antipas in North Cotabato on Wednesday.

Lt. Colonel Lino Capellan, police regional spokesperson for the Soccsksargen region, identified the slain businesswoman as Marissa Bautista, 46 and a resident of Barangay Poblacion, Matalam town.

Capellan, citing a report from North Cotabato police office, said Bautista was tending to her variety store when an unidentified suspect shot him without any provocation.
