North Cotabato gov't has 8-point rehab procedure for quake victims 

NORTH COTABATO  --- Officials have agreed to boost via an eight-point humanitarian protocol the on-going relief and rehabilitation efforts for earthquake-stricken communities in this province.

North Cotabato Gov. Nancy Catamco said Saturday the plan was reached by members of the provincial disaster risk reduction and management council (PDRRMC) during a meeting at the provincial capitol Friday.


When brake system of cement mixer truck malfunctions atop a bridge, this is the result

COTABATO CITY -- At lease seven vehicles were damaged, several persons injured when a cement mixer truck looses its brekes while approahing the Tamontaka bridge Saturday morning.

The truck with markings "BRE Construction," rammed through several vehicles, including luxury vehicles and a taxi in the 10 a.m. freak accident.

Datu Fahad Lauban who took photos and was in the area during the freak accident said that the truck bulldozed vehicles on opposite direction that also triggered domino effect among rows of cars.


Livelihood training in poorest Mindanao provinces slated in 2020

DAVAO CITY -- A team of agriculture experts will conduct a lecture series on livelihood projects targeting Mindanao's poorest provinces, especially in the conflict-affected areas, starting January 2020.

In a statement on Thursday, Mindanao Development Authority (MinDA) Secretary Emmanuel Piñol said a team of agriculture experts will teach rural folks on raising native chicken and goat, cattle fattening, as well as vegetable farming.

“My advocacy is to achieve peace and prosperity in Mindanao through simple livelihood projects” said Piñol.

3 NDMC alumni top 10 LET passers; 8 from ND schools in Top 10 list too

MIDSAYAP, North Cotabato – Three education graduates of Notre Dame of Midsayap College made history by making it to the top 10 of this year’s Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET), NDMC officials announced today.

Fr. Jonathan Domingo, OMI, NDMC president, said NDMC alumnus Gybrille Rosse Galvan Ferolin landed as No. 3 in LET for elementary while Adrian Turbanos Obenita is at No. 7 spot.

NDMC education graduate Angelo Paculo Florague was No. 8 in LET for secondary.


Tacurong-based broadcaster shot October 30 is gone 

TACURONG CITY --- The broadcaster who sustained multiple gunshot wounds in an attack here in late October died in a hospital in Davao City.

Benjie Caballero of Radyo ni Juan FM station here passed away at past 3:00 a.m. Sunday while being treated in a hospital in Davao City.

Two of the four bullet wounds that hit him when he was attacked with a .45 caliber pistol by a still unidentified man on October 30 while on his way to work pierced through his lungs.

Troops recover more IEDs in continuing military operation in Maguindanao

CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao – JTFC troops under 601st Infantry Brigade have recovered more improvised explosive devices (IEDs) yesterday morning, in the continuing military operation in the province of Maguindanao.

The IEDs were discovered around 4:45 a.m. by the 57th Infantry Battalion at Barangay Pusao, Shariff Saydona Mustapha, Maguindanao while pursuing the outlawed Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighter (BIFF) and Dawla Islamiyah Terror Group (DITG).


More than 1,500 Cops in PRO 12 donned another rank higher

GEN. SANTOS CITY – A total of 1,563 Police Officers of Police Regional Office (PRO12) took their oath and was donned with new rank in PRO 12 Headquarters, Tambler, General Santos City on November 25, 2019.

The abovementioned Police Officers were promoted under 2nd Cycle 2nd Level Regular Promotion Program from ranks of Police Corporal (PCpl) to Police Lieutenant Colonel(PLTCOL).

While conducting pursuit operation, troops of the 2SFBn and the 2nd Light Reaction Company (2LRC) encountered more or less 20 Abu Sayyaf Group bandits under Raden Abu in Barangay Kaha, Parang, Sulu.
