Catamco launches digital marketing platform

KIDAPAWAN CITY - North Cotabato Governor Nancy Catamco on Saturday launched a digital marketing platform that will be her constituents’ alternative wet market while the government is restricting the peoples' mobility due to the spike in COVID-19 positive cases reported this week.

Catamco, who will use the social media platform Facebook, created “NC Marketplace” where farmers, the producers, their potential buyers and the consumers, will meet virtually.

From the free-range area, our farm workers prepared 50 Lechon Manok Pinoy for our medical frontliners in 10 hospitals in Kidapawan City, Pres. Roxas, Antipas, Kabacan, Mlang and Tulunan.

This is the second Sunday that we will show support to our frontliners by giving out roasted free range chicken from our farm in Kidapawan City.

This is our family's modest contribution to the campaign against the COVID-19 Pandemic.


Pope names new bishop of Jolo

Pope Francis has appointed Fr. Charlie Inzon of the Oblates of Mary Immaculate as the apostolic vicar of the Jolo vicariate in Sulu province.

The 54-year-old priest is currently the provincial superior of the OMI in the Philippines.

The appointment was made public in Rome on Saturday at 12 noon (6:00 p.m. in Manila).

The vicariate has been without a bishop after Angelito Lampon was named archbishop of Cotabato in November 2018.

Since January 2019, the ecclesial jurisdiction has been under the temporary care of Fr. Romeo Saniel, OMI, as its administrator.


BARMM urge traders to keep prices of merchandise low

COTABATO CITY --- The Bangsamoro government on Thursday again reminded merchants of sanctions if they either hoard or increase prices of commercial goods amid the region-wide anti-coronavirus quarantine.

Regional officials said Thursday prices of food supplies and other commodities in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao are stable and traders are maintaining the availability of commodities as consumers face the COVID-19 pandemic.

Catamco’s office today March 30, 2020 at the Provincial Governor's Office, Capitol Compound, Amas, Kidapawan City and discussed with the department heads, the different programs the MINDA could implement in the province of Cotabato.

MINDA Chair Piñol presented to Governor Catamco and department heads the Self-Sustaining Food Sufficiency Strategy (SSFSS) that will help the province of Cotabato to be more agriculturally productive and self-sustaining.

CBCP sets special day to honor medical frontliners

The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines announced a “Day of Prayer” for the medical frontliners against coronavirus, as nine doctors have died from the disease.

In a circular issued Friday, Archbishop Romulo Valles, CBCP President, invited all the dioceses to offer prayers for the country’s health workers on March 29, the fifth Sunday of Lent.

“We do this in all our Masses, our Rosaries, during our Holy Hour, and in our moments of personal prayer,” he said.


PCSO readies P420-M for transfer to PhilHealth for COVID-19 response

BARMM traced 37 Filipino attendees of Malaysia Tabligh gathering

COTABATO CITY — The Bangsamoro Inter-Agency Task Force (BARMM-IATF) on Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) has traced and verified 37 of the initially identified 196 Filipino attendees to a Tabligh (Islamic preachers) gathering held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, late February 2020.

According to Minister Dr. Saffrullah Dipatuan of the Ministry of Health (MOH), “just to ensure everyone that we are taking this seriously, we have the names and addresses of these people. However, the copy of their names is confidential.”


Sexagenarian is third Covid-19 positive patient in Region 12

COTABATO CITY – Two more patients, including a 68-year-old female, have been found positive of coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) in Region 12 (Soccsksargen), raising the total number to three, the Department of Health (DOH-12) reported Wednesday.

The first Covid-19 positive patient referred to as Patient 145 (PH145) has already recovered and happily left the Cotabato Regional and Medical Center here over the weekend, according to Dr. Helen Yambao, the Cotabato Regional and Medical Center chief of hospital.
