Tacurong-based broadcaster shot October 30 is gone 

TACURONG CITY --- The broadcaster who sustained multiple gunshot wounds in an attack here in late October died in a hospital in Davao City.

Benjie Caballero of Radyo ni Juan FM station here passed away at past 3:00 a.m. Sunday while being treated in a hospital in Davao City.

Two of the four bullet wounds that hit him when he was attacked with a .45 caliber pistol by a still unidentified man on October 30 while on his way to work pierced through his lungs.

Troops recover more IEDs in continuing military operation in Maguindanao

CAMP SIONGCO, Maguindanao – JTFC troops under 601st Infantry Brigade have recovered more improvised explosive devices (IEDs) yesterday morning, in the continuing military operation in the province of Maguindanao.

The IEDs were discovered around 4:45 a.m. by the 57th Infantry Battalion at Barangay Pusao, Shariff Saydona Mustapha, Maguindanao while pursuing the outlawed Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighter (BIFF) and Dawla Islamiyah Terror Group (DITG).

More than 1,500 Cops in PRO 12 donned another rank higher

GEN. SANTOS CITY – A total of 1,563 Police Officers of Police Regional Office (PRO12) took their oath and was donned with new rank in PRO 12 Headquarters, Tambler, General Santos City on November 25, 2019.

The abovementioned Police Officers were promoted under 2nd Cycle 2nd Level Regular Promotion Program from ranks of Police Corporal (PCpl) to Police Lieutenant Colonel(PLTCOL).

Military rescue kidnapped couple in Sulu

ZAMBOANGA CITY - Operating troops of the 2nd Special Forces Battalion successfully rescued two kidnap victims in Sulu at 8am today, November 25, 2019.

While conducting pursuit operation, troops of the 2SFBn and the 2nd Light Reaction Company (2LRC) encountered more or less 20 Abu Sayyaf Group bandits under Raden Abu in Barangay Kaha, Parang, Sulu.

IED blast rock Shariff Aguak town proper

MAGUINDANAO - A powerful explosion ripped through a narrow thoroughfare in the town proper Shariff Aguak, Maguindanao on Sunday morning and caused panic among residents.

The improvised explosive device, placed underneath the seat of an old motorcycle parked along the route, went off while the Toyota Hilux pick-up truck of Datu Item Ampatuan, chief of the 106th Base Command of the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, was passing by.

Gov. Nancy Catamco back in harness 

NORTH COTABATO --- Spiritual leaders of highland tribes in North Cotabato performed at sunrise Wednesday a blessing rite for Gov. Nancy Catamco to mark her return to office after a three-month suspension.

She was suspended by the Office of the Ombudsman due to graft case while she was yet a private individual.

The symbolic prayer rite was held at the town proper of the earthquake-stricken Makilala town in North Cotabato.

Mag 4.2 jolts Davao Oriental

DAVAO CITY - A magnitude 4.2 quake jolts Davao region today with the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) saying the epicenter was nine kilometers west of Lupon, Davao Oriental.

In a bulletin, Phivolcs said the tremor came at 3 p.m. and tectonic in origin.  It said aftershocks are expected.
