Inmate bolts South Cotabato provincial jail

KORONADAL CITY- Another inmate of South Cotabato Detention and Rehabilitation Center has escaped the detention facility on Monday, the third since late last year.Romeo Rufino, officer in charge of the jail facility, identified the escapee asAndy Evangelista, 28, resident of Norala town.

KORONADAL CITY - The General Santos City Athletic Association sustained its winning streak in the recently concluded SOCCSKSARGEN Regional Athletic Association (SRAA) meet. The city bested eight other divisions of the Department of Education (DepED) in region 12 when it garnered an over-all point score results of 629.8. General Santos City has been a consistent topnotcher in the SRAA meet since 2012. The South Cotabato Athletic Association (SCAA) which maintained its post as first runner up in the SRAA meet 2015 garnered 624.70 points.

Expelled priest shot dead in Bukidnon

COTABATO CITY – An expelled priest in Bukidnon was shot dead Thursday morning by two armed men riding tandem on a motorbike in Maramag town, police said. Police Inspector Jiselle Lou Longgakit, Bukinon police provincial office spokesperson, said defrocked Fr. Teresito M. Labastilla was shot dead in front of his eldest son at past 7 a.m. in a highway in Maramag town, Bukidnon. Bystanders rushed Labastilla, 45, to the Bukidnon district hospital where he was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians, Longgakit said. He was hit in the forehead from cal.

KORONADAL CITY - The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) today said itcannot yet implement increase in the salaries of domestic helpers in the region as mandated by RA 10361.This was revealed by a ranking officer of RTWPB 12 in an interview with DXOM FM Koronadal Tuesday.Jessie Dela Cruz, RTWPB 12 Secretary, said RTWPB is still closely coordinating with the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) to know the numbers of registered househelp in the region.
