Families displaced by MILF infighting get relief assistance

PIKIT, North Cotabato – Displaced families in Pikit’s
remote village have received relief assistance from the local government unit
but refused to return home following conflict involving Moro clans.

Tahira Kalantongan, chair of Pikit municipal disaster
risk reduction and management council, said the affected families, about 400 of
them, were given rice, noodles and canned goods.

Some of the displaced families temporarily stayed at
the barangay hall of Bulol, Pikit while others sought shelter in relatives’
homes.

Tacurong City honors loyal gov't servants

TACURONG CITY – In recognition of their loyalty
to government service, 73 employees of the Tacurong City local government unit
were awarded and recognized at the end of the Civil Service Month celebration.

In a statement, TacurongCity Mayor Lina Montilla said the awardees received Loyalty Service memorabilia” in recognition of long years of service
to the people of Tacurong City.

It was part of the Programs on Awards and
Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) of the local government.

Rep. Robredo inaugurates Koronadal road named after Sec. Robredo

Koronadal Comelec dismayed over low SK list up turn out

KORONADAL CITY - The Commission on Elections (Comelec) here was dismayed over the low turn out of the 10-day voters registration for Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) election. Atty. Richard Opinion, Koronadal City Election officer, said despite massive information dissemination his office failed toreach the targeted number of SK registrants. We were hoping at least 1,500 new SK voters but only 878 came to our office to register,” Opinion told DXOM-FM Koronadal, Tuesday morning.

Koronadal offers P250,000 more for arrest of 5 in pawnshop heist

KORONADAL CITY
(Sept. 27) – Mayor Peter Miguel has offered additional reward for five other
suspects responsible in the daring heist of Agencia Brillantes following the
arrest of the gang leader.

Miguel,
speaking over Happy FM-Koronadal, admitted the P50,000 reward he offered
following the robbery that left two security guards dead and four others
wounded, including two minors, had already been awarded to the informant who
provided police with vital information leading to Khadaffy Guiamelon’s arrest.

COTABATO CITY (Sept. 19) – A 52-year-old money-lending
businesswoman is now fighting for her life after a man stabbed her Thursday
afternoon.

Senior Insp.
Efren Salazar, police station 1 chief, said Cecilia Sawit, resident of Zone 2,
PC Hill, Cotabato City.

Salazar said
the suspect who was known to Sawit came to apply for a loan. He was allowed entry inside the victim’s
