DA sends NorCot farmers to Papua New Guinea to start demo farm

KIDAPAWAN CITY – At least 22 farmers from North Cotabato would be sent to Papua New Guinea (PNG) to work in the 100-hectare rice demonstration farm that will soon rise once the Duterte administration inks a final deal with the PNG government, Agriculture Secretary Manny Pinol said.The farmers, Pinol said, would come from his hometown in M’lang, North Cotabato.

DA-12 grants new farming system to Cotabato City

COTABATO CITY – Farmers in Cotabato City are expected to
increase productivity with the coming of urban farming technology from the
Department of Agriculture.

The hydrophonics and aquaphonics farming system were turned
over DA-12 and its partner, Aboitiz Company to the Bangasamoro Development
Agency in Barangay Kalanganan, Cotabato City.

It is a project of DA 12 under the urban agriculture – Pagkain Para
sa Masa program. Under this program, the beneficiaries are trained in urban
farming and they will receive agricultural inputs.

More than 4,000 fisherfolk benefit from ARMM-HDAP projects

COTABATO CITY – More than 4,000 fisher folks in the province of Maguindanao are expected to benefit from several fisheries-based livelihood projects of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) through its Humanitarian and Development Assistance Program (HDAP).Janice Musali, executive director of Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR)-ARMM, said residents dependent on fishing from the second district of Maguindanao will be assisted with livelihood projects to help them generate income and improve their living conditions.

Manobo villagers benefit from P4.96-M Kalahi-CIDSS projects in Kalamansig

KALAMANSIG, Sultan Kudarat -- For decades, Manobo farmers in far-flung
mountainous village of Datu Wasay here were left with no choice but to lay their
harvested grains in tattered sacks and tarps to improve its quality with the
absence of solar drier in the place.

HDAP-ARMM turns over drying facilities to farmers in Maguindanao

Datu Piang, Maguindanao – The Humanitarian and Development Assistance Program of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (HDAP-ARMM) turned over two units of multi-purpose solar drying pavements, worth P400,000 each, to cooperatives in barangays Poblacion and Dado in Datu Piang on Wednesday, January 10.Sonora Dagadas, municipal agriculture officer of Datu Piang, said the new drying facilities will directly benefit as many as 3,000 farmers not only from this town but from other areas in the province as well. Ang mga drying pavements na ito ay bukas para sa lahat ng farmers.
